Hiring a Virtual Assistant
5 Reasons Why Companies Hire a Virtual Assistant

What is a Virtual Assistant? What do they do? Why are they needed and in demand nowadays? These are only a few follow up questions when asked by someone what you do for a living and your answer is, "I am a Virtual Assistant".

Personally, I am new to the Online Freelancing world and I also asked those questions when a friend of mine, who is also a SAHM (Stay-at-Home-Mom) mentioned it to me when we had our little sneaky "mom-time" over coffee. Our topic was about Work-from-Home Jobs, how do we earn from home and at the same time still be able to take care of our family.

What is a Virtual Assistant?

With the fast growing modern technology and more people and businesses utilizing the online platform, there is no wonder why Virtual Assistants are in demand nowadays. However not a lot of people are still aware of what Virtual Assistance is all about. So before I discuss why companies hire one, let us know first what a Virtual Assistant is.

A Virtual Assistant is an independent, self-employed individual or contractor who provides administrative or professional services to clients who are mostly entrepreneurs and business owners, remotely from a home office. They may also be known as Remote Workers, Virtual Professionals or Online Freelancers. Examples of Administrative Services provided are data entry, transcription, email and project management, calendar management, customer service, social media management and research. While some Professional Services include Architectural and Engineering Services, Medical Billing, Web Design, Video Editting, Paralegal services and Real Estate Coordination.

5 Benefits of Hiring a Virtual Assistant

Now that we have a brief background on what a VA (short term for Virtual Assistant) is, here's giving 5 Reasons Why Companies Hire them:

1. More Savings, Less Expenses!

Virtual Assistants work remotely, and therefore, they work at the comfort of their own home. There is no more need to provide an office or create a work space. Office Rental is one of the biggest expenses of a company. So hiring someone who does not need an office space will definitely give big savings to the company!

Another big expense is the equipment. Virtual Assistants use their own gadgets or tools such as laptops, tablets, mobile phones, webcams, headphones, etc. to provide services for the company. Meaning, more savings again from hiring a VA! Some are lucky though, when their clients are generous enough to give away something but this is usually for a job well-done! ;)

And last but not the least of the biggest company expenses is the Payroll! Hiring freelancers means less employees payroll, salary and other mandatory benefits. The company will only pay for what work was done by your VA.

2. Saving the Most Precious Time!

Since most of the overwhelming administrative (and some professional) tasks will be done by the VA, The company's boss will now have more time to spend for planning on how to grow their business more, build customer relationships and focus on the other important issues that needs more attention. Also, less overtime, means more family time! :)

3. Getting More Profit!

VAs could also be Social Media Managers and would market the business' services and products offered, and help increase online presence. They could also help on reaching out for more clients and do sales calls. Thus, generating more income!

4. Having a Peace of Mind!

When you hire a Virtual Assistant, all work will be organized, more systematic, easier and faster. Knowing that all the smallest details of most of the tasks will be done and handled in good hands, life will be more stress-free!

5. Supporting Work-from-Home Freelancers

Many people nowadays considers working from home due to some reasons like moms or dads who need to look after their small children, working children that needs to take care of their old or sick parents, etc. These people who have responsibilities at home that they cannot leave but also needs to earn for a living will surely work so hard and give their best for their clients and will want nothing less but the company's success not only to satisfy and perform their tasks as VAs but also to sustain their financials at home.

It is a good thing that many companies consider helping and supporting these people by hiring them and giving them jobs and opportunities even though they are at home. And in return, VAs return the favor by giving their best foot forward for the company's success.
